It's finally done! This is my first home decor item I've made for my new house. I have framed it in a 10x13 black frame with a white mat around it. For now it is on my mantel but eventually it will go on the wall by the dining table. I scraplifted from THIS blog, eighteen25. This blog is my new fave of the week and a must when checking up on my daily buzz. I'm thinking of making a few more to go with this sign and do a series type thing. But for now, here's what I got! Enjoy!

Make Your Own Holiday Blog Hop
You should have arrived here from Patti at Short ‘N Scrappy at http://www.shortnscrappy.com/
. If you just stumbled across the hop, and you’d like to start at the beginning, hop over to Karelj’s blog at www.kareljcreations.com to start at the beginning. After my stop, you should head over to Kay Craig at 100 Things at http://kopperhead100.blogspot.com
Karelj is offering an over-all blog candy for those who are hopping along with us. She thought it would be fun to have some holiday-themed candy for this hop--but, of course, made-up holiday items were hard to come by! She decided to do a whole bunch of *regular* holiday themed stamps for you to enjoy. From Fiskars, there is an assorted holiday set; there's an alphabet from All Night Media, a set of 100 plus clear stamps and a storage case from Family Memories, and 5 sets of clear stamps from various dollar bins in big box stores. How to win them? Follow along the blog trail, leaving a comment on each and every blog. On Monday, Karelj will ask her buddy Randy (random.org) to select a blog number (from the list), a day (Saturday is one, Sunday is two), and a comment number from that blog. Please make sure you have left a reliable way to contact you (email is best, in the safe format of **** at **** dot com ) so you can be notified by her personally. If you don't, she’ll have to select another winner

Papaw's Shop Sign
This was a project towards my Craft it Forward 2011. I made this for my father who recently just built his shop. I knew he would love something to hang in there. I found the quote at Hobby Lobby on one of their metal signs and knew it was perfect. Using Plantin Schoolbook and Modgepodge this sign was whipped up in a jiffy. I started with an old wooden plaque I found at a thrift store for $.50. I sanded it slightly so the paint would adhere, then painted it with two coats of chocolate brown. I cut the letters all from Plantin. "Papaw's shop" is roly poly and the rest is tall ball. Then I cut the tree landscape out of green textured cardstock. You have to work quickly with modgepodge and in short sections so I pasted down each line one at a time. After everything was pasted down and dried I put two more coats of modgepodge on the top to make it really durable. My dad LOVED it! Now I need to make my mom one for her kitchen. I can Write!

I saw this idea in a magazine for leftover alpha stickers. Take ANY diecut and FILL it with letters. Genius! Their version had a lot of different colors but I wanted something simple so I took red epoxy stickers and placed them on the red cardstock. I love the way it turned out. It was a quick easy way to add dimension to something that looked a little bland. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the apple, scallops, and fonts. I can't wait to add pics :)Monday, February 21, 2011

It's my Puppy
This is probably my favorite "pet" layout I've done. This is my puppy Ophelia (Ophie for short). She is my baby. And she def loves to have her picture taken. She literally posses for me. Anyway, this was so much fun to make and thought you would like it. It's VERY easy too :) I used Plantin to make the circle and Opposites Attract for the LOVE title. Texas Is My Home

We also are home to the second largest canyon in the US. This is located about 15 min outside of Amarillo. It's really neat to see all the different layers of history out there. There have been dinosoar bones found, there is still an old home dwelling that was dugout the side of a hill for people to look at, and every summer they put on a play called TEXAS that tells the history of the area. It's really neat!

The place I really want to visit is Greece. My husband and I are really into Greek mythology and would just die to get to spend a week in Greece. We're trying to plan for a trip for our 15th anniversary. I love the cultures there and the area is just BEAUTIFUL! I'm not sure I'd come home if we made it there, LOL. But this is def somewhere I want to go. The first thing I would do is spend one hour just sitting on the rocks taking it all in. The second? Swimming! Then check out the temples and eat some of the greek foods from there.
Cricky Across the 50 Blog Hop!
I used the markers listed above for the hair. This image is a free digi stamp at www.cuddlybuddly.com They have some of the cutest stamps I've ever seen. I also stitched the sides with red embroidery ribbon. I don't do this often but felt this was the perfect image for some hand stitching.
As I said, more projects to come soon!

These are a few necklaces that I made today. The green one and the black and white one belong to my best friend. She bought the green one and didn't like the colors the way they were so I changed a few things, added all the browns. The zebra cross was WAY too short so I extended it for her by adding the silver beads and large clear beads. I'm really hoping she likes them.

This little old guy just made me laugh when I saw him. He is a digi stamp from http://allgluedup.blogspot.com . And he was so much fun to color. This card is actually for my grandfather. His birthday is V-day and I'm always teasing him about being old. I think he's gonna like it though. Thanks for looking.

On a Wednesday Afternoon....
As you can see it's intended for a card but I decided to use it on a layout instead. I used the kit from Walmart and the Storybook Cartridge on this layout. Thanks for looking :)
