All night crop completed....

This is one of my favorite pictures and when I found this journaling in a print advertisement booklet I knew exactly which photo I was going to use. This is my daughter and my grandmother (her great grandmother). I'm very lucky to have been able to spend as much time as I have with my grandmother and that my kids have gotten to know her. The paper is from Creative Memories and was part of our goodie bags from last night! So stinkin' cute!
As you can see, I spent some time on my daughters photos last night. This sketch is from scrapbooks etc magazine and I'm so happy with the way it turned out. Love these colors.
Willow and her ball. These butterflies were just perfect for her so I created this page around them :) The journaling was an interesting addition. I wanted to use this really skinny journal strip down the side of the page but it's much too small to do any kind of real journaling. SOOOOOO, I just picked 10 words that came to mind when looking at the photos and accented a few of them. There are perfect for her.
And last, Cam my handyman :) I've had these photos for over a year now and I had no idea what to do with them. When I had them printed from walmart I had a border added so that I didn't have to distress them myself. This made it extra difficult when making my page cause i didn't want to crop any of the photos. Had to leave the borders on. I think it turned out great though. I used "boys will be boys" cart on this for the hammer, screwdriver, and arrow font. I can't wait to show it to Cam, he's going to love it.

On a Wednesday Afternoon....

I absolutely love The Outlawz site. You can find them here. Everyday there's a new challenge, from cards, to sketches, to colors to use, to simplicity, and on and on. This was the Wednesday Sketch Challenge for this week.

As you can see it's intended for a card but I decided to use it on a layout instead. I used the kit from Walmart and the Storybook Cartridge on this layout. Thanks for looking :)

Falling Behind

My son cracks me up so bad in this photo. i am not too impressed with my layout but I can't think of anything to change it. And because i'm so far behind i don't think i will be changing it any time soon. But you know, i don't remember entering a "perfection" contest so even if its not quite right, it can still be called finished and added to the books. I'm off to create another page!!!

Sorry it's been a while girls. Been working at the new temp job and never seem to find time to get online. Then the one day I do, the net is down!!! UGHness. Okay, so here is a layout of my darling nephew Zack. The frog pp cut out is actually the negative cut from another page I did. Just couldn't let it go to waste. That inspired me to do an entire page of just scraps. Everything on this page comes from my leftovers box. Your challenge this week is to create a layout using leftovers. Be sure to leave me some love too!

My husband is one of the most sexy men alive, even if I'm the only one who agrees. I love this new line Rockstar by DCWV. This was my first layout using this pack. I like the colors in this entire pack. It makes it easy to make Manly Men pages. Just to keep it more lovey dovey I added gemstones around the U in the shape of a heart and on the title in select places. This page still has a rough look to it but the bling just adds so much. I want you to try this technique. Use some rougher looking patterned paper and add some bling to it. See what you come up with.

My Grandpa

The other night, hubby and I were watching the movie "The Gardian" with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. During the bar scene, Kevin Costner is complaining about getting old and the bartender turns to him and lays it all out. My husband and I looked at each other and said, "That's Grandpa". So, the next day I decided to do a layout of him and include that quote. I have edited it slightly but it's still perfect. Journaling says, "if my muscles ache it's cuz I've USED 'em. It's hard for me to walk up them steps now cuz I walked up 'em every night to lay next to a woman who loved me. I've got a few wrinkles here and there but I've layed under THOUSANDS of skies with sunny days. I look and feel this way, well 'cuz I drank and I smoked. I lived and I loved, danced, sang, sweat, and screwed my way through a pretty damn good life if you ask me. Getting old ain't bad.... getting old, that's EARNED.
