Don't know why I love this layout so much. Maybe it's how the photos show such innocence, or maybe because the colors are so vibrant. No, I think the reason I love this layout is because I used things that were over a year old. I dragged out my stash and forced myself to use these disney stickers that I've had since the beginning and this MICKEY title that someone sent me in a rak about 1 year ago. It makes me feel good to see my supplies well used. My challenge for you this week is to use something that you've had for a while. Whether it be a month old or a year old. Use it! Don't buy something new, don't MAKE a new title, use what you have!

I love how cute Cami is when jumping on the trampoline. He's such a dare devil. I had so much fun catching this on the camera and had even more fun scrappin' it. Don't be afraid of bold colors and large titles even when it doesn't seem to fit.

A few new layouts

Here are a few layouts that I've done lately that I'm very proud of. I love this title for Seth's Layout, 6.5 Billion people in the world, and there's no one like you! It's so true! The next layout is of my nephew Logan. I took a pic of my brother in law throwing him up in the air and when I got it on my computer, I edited my bil out of the photo. It looked like Logan was flying!!! Since he's a huge Marvel fan, I thought it would only be appropriate to do a super logan layout! And last but not least, I found this layout in a magazine and immediatly knew which photo I was doing. The look of her eyes and face just makes me melt. I love everything about this layout. Especially the simplicity of it! Thanks for looking!

Animal Mania

Here is another layout that I've done for the 30 days of sketchs! This is willow around her first birthday. Since Heath was in the hospital on her b-day, we gave her presents to her later on in the month. She didn't take to them at first.... now.... she won't put them down!

I'm participating in CK's 30 sketches in 30 days challenge. Here is my first layout of many and I LOVE the way it turned out with it so simple. My son was so happy to meet his favorite Cat at school!

Awe, a girl and her pony! I have found a new technique and wanted to share it with you...... mix and match titles! I love the way they look when you take 2-4 different products and create a title. Adding deminsion, texture, color, etc your possibilities are ENDLESS!!! My challenge for you is to try your hand at multi product titles. If you are just starting, try only using 2 different kinds, and work your way up to 4.

Snapshots

Using one of my own sketches and these AWESOME new rub ons I found..... I created this layout of my niece at the park. She's so happy swinging. I love doing series shots. Using the sequence funtion on my camera, I got these awesome shots of Claire as she was swinging. I adore the way her face changes in the middle of her swinging. Your challenge this week is to try to experiement with sequence funtions and make a layout using those photos.

Dr. Jekyll & Mrs. Hyde

Don't you just feel this way sometimes. I feel like some people look at me like I'm a freak when I say I'm a scrapbooker. That is of course until they look at my pages, muah hahahaha!

I've had a lot of people ask me.... "How do you store your acrylic stamps?". I used to keep them in their original packages until I found these really cute containers that were intended for Gift Cards at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I took the stamp sheets, cut them in two, and they fit perfectly in these. To keep the confusion down I decided to decorate the outside as to what was in each box. I stamped the immages on the outside and labeled the product and line so that in the future, I'll be able to reference when submitting to magazines and such. My larger stamp sets (ie alphabets) still stay in their original packaging, not sure how I'm going to store those just yet.
My challenge for you is to organize something in your scrapspace and use your scrapbooking materials to decorate / label it. Have fun!

Been a while

Seth's 1st Tooth! It's crazy, one day we're worring about teething issues and the next he's loosing his baby teeth! This was a real wake up call to me that my baby was growing up. My challenge for you this week is to make a layout about one of your children's "firsts". Be sure to journal about it.

Being a scrapper I'm always looking for new ways to use my talents. Instead of ordering business cards, I decided to make my own. These are really old so this phone number is no longer good, sorry lurkers! But you get the general idea. The last time I did business cards I ended up ordering them from a print company because I needed a whole bunch and fast! However, I got many more calls using my own handmade ones and many many more compliments.

DR. SEUSS' BIRTHDAY!!!!

My challenge for you is to use one of these two posters that I adore so much and use the inspiration to create a layout. Have fun!!!

Saturday, March 1, 2008

Another fantastic thing about being a scrapper is never having to buy premade cards again. They're so impersonal, and sometimes expesive for the nice ones. I haven't met on person yet who didn't enjoy receiving a handmade card from me. They seem to keep ahold of them longer as well. Here are some cute sketchs by yours truely to try your hand at. Remember to show me your work!

Some words to live by...... and them some we wish we didn't have to.

Hey girls, one of the most important elements on our pages / cards are the words! Whether it's the title, the journaling, a quote, or phrase, the words are what set the mood of the page. Here are some of my favorite "words" over the last few years. My challenge for you is to sellect one of these "words" and use them on a layout or card.

Between the innocence of babyhood
and the dignity of manhood,
we find a delightful creature of a boy.

Sometimes if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowely away beneath you, you suddenly know everything there is to be known. - Winnie the Pooh

Today you are you,
that is truer than true.
There is no one alive
who is you-er than you!
- Dr. Seuss

The world is mud-elicious and puddle-underful. - E.E. Cummings

Advice is what we ask for
when we already know the answer
but wish we didn't.

Give me a call
or write me a letter
You'll feel good
but I'll feel better.
